From Blueprints to Building: Notarizing a Notice of Commencement in On Top of the World

Over  the weekend, I headed over to On Top of the World here in Ocala to meet a couple who are adding onto their home. They had everything lined up with their contractor and just needed one last piece before construction could officially move forward—a Notice of Commencement notarized.

One of the things I enjoy most about being a mobile notary is getting a little glimpse into people's lives. Every appointment tells a different story. This one wasn't about buying or selling a house. It was about making the home they already love even better.

When I arrived, you could tell they were excited. They walked me through their plans for the addition. They shared that they had only been living in their home for about 18 months, but they already knew exactly how they wanted to improve it. This addition was the next step in turning a new house into their forever home.. That's something I see quite a bit. Important documents are usually connected to big life moments, and this one was no exception.

A Notice of Commencement may not sound exciting, but in Florida it's an important document for many construction projects. It lets everyone involved know that work is beginning and helps establish the official record for the project. Once the signatures were verified and everything was properly notarized, they were one step closer to hearing the sounds of hammers instead of just imagining them.

Appointments like this remind me why I started Now or Never Notary. People are already juggling contractors, permits, schedules, and everything else that comes with a home project. The last thing they need is another errand. Being able to drive directly to their home means they can stay focused on what matters while I take care of the notarization.

As I drove away through the beautiful neighborhoods of On Top of the World, I couldn't help but smile. In less than twenty minutes, a simple notarization had become another small part of someone's exciting new chapter.

Congratulations to my clients—I hope the construction goes smoothly, and I can't wait to see the finished addition someday.

Need a Notice of Commencement notarized? I provide mobile notary services throughout Ocala, On Top of the World, Stone Creek, Oak Run, Del Webb Spruce Creek, and the rest of Marion County, Florida. Whether you're starting a home improvement project or signing real estate documents, I'll come to you.

If you need a document notarized at your home, office, hospital, or favorite coffee shop, I'd be happy to come to you. That's what mobile notary service is all about—making life's important moments just a little easier.
