Not every notary visit goes as planned—and sometimes, it circles back months later.
Back in January, I was called to notarize a Quit Claim Deed for a gentleman here in Marion County. He was friendly, organized, and everything went smoothly. Fast forward six months, and I got an unexpected call from him again. It turns out, he hadn’t sent the documents to his lawyer until recently—and when he did, his attorney let him know they were the wrong documents.
Frustrated but still calm and courteous, he called me back and asked if I could help him notarize the corrected paperwork. Of course, I said yes.
When I arrived, he was incredibly apologetic, worried that he was inconveniencing me. But honestly, it was no trouble at all. That’s the beauty of being a mobile notary—life happens, and I’m here to meet people where they are, no judgment, no pressure, just help when it’s needed.
His situation also serves as a helpful reminder:
✅ Notaries are not lawyers or paralegals.
✅ We cannot explain, review, or recommend legal documents.
✅ Our role is simply to witness your signature and verify your identity.
That’s why it’s so important to review any legal documents with your attorney before you call your notary. Once the paperwork is signed and notarized, it’s often too late to make changes—especially if it needs to hold up in court or for official purposes.

I was happy to be part of getting things back on track for him—and honored that he trusted me again. If you ever need a notary who meets you where you are—whether at your home, a coffee shop, or your lawyer’s office—I'm just a call away.
Until next time,
